Since I went through the pain clinic, I have found
that there are many things I can do.
While at the clinic I started an active physical therapy program, using aerobics, and
weight training. Now I can hear some of you out there saying,"But I can't do any of
that". Well, when I started I couldn't do " any of that" either. When I
first started I could only ride an exercycle for 5 minutes. The most weight I could lift
was maybe 10 pounds. After a few months I am able to ride for 45 minutes, or 8 miles, I
can lift 40 to 80 pounds, depending on the lift type (I use a full workout machine
(nautilis)).I am walking about 4 miles a day. I'm not going to tell you this works for
everyone, or that I am now pain free, but I feel like I can enjoy life again. Body
mechanics is another area that we all need to address. How you move, turn, set, or stand is
critical to your well being. If you are one of many who have chronic pain due to back
injuries, this is of the utmost importance.
